Aphex Twin Wins Best Dance Album Grammy
Aphex Twin’s album Syro won him the award for Best Dance Album at last night’s Grammys.
The record, which was originally unveiled on the dark web, is his first album to be released in twelve years and won up against works from Deadmau5, Little Dragon, Royksopp & Robyn and Mat Zo who were also nominated under the same category.
Despite winning the prestigious award, Richard James, best known as Aphex Twin, was not there to claim it.
Over 150 unreleased Aphex Twin tracks were added to the “user48736353001” Soundcloud last week and, strangely, are all available for download.
The 57th edition of the ceremony also saw victories from artists such as Sam Smith for Best New Artist (as well as Song Of The Year and Best Vocal Pop Album) and Beck for Album Of The Year.
