Berghain, Fabric To Sell Off Artefacts
Ever loved a venue so much that you wish you could take home a little piece of it?
Well, fans of Berghain (Berlin) and Fabric (London) will soon have this opportunity, as both clubs have recently announced plans to auction off some famous artefacts.
Berghain is in the process of dismantling Piotr Nathan’s Rituals Of Disappearance mural, which stands over 5 yards high and more than 27 yards wide, and which has been a centrepiece nightclub since it opened in October 2004.
The mural has disassembled to allow reconstruction of the club’s entrance area, and each one of the 171 square aluminium panels that comprise artwork will be available for purchase. As the artist explains, “It is … conclusive to dissolve the work and distribute it primarily among the people who have a connection with the Berghain… It is my wish for the panels to find their places in the homes of the guests who have celebrated in the club. After all, this massive mural, although conceived in form and content for a museum, was ultimately designed and realised in this extraordinary club. I compare partying at Berghain to cultic celebrations of indigenous tribes.”

Meanwhile, another premier European nightclub – London’s Fabric – has announced that its old Room Two sound system will be for sale on eBay until March 27th.
The system features Martin Audio speakers which were in use for well over a decade before being replaced with a new Pioneer Pro Audio setup in August 2016. The sale includes eight WSX Wavefront series subs; four Blackline H3T 3-way boxes; four Blackline H2 2-way boxes and some spare drivers, all of which are “in good working order and condition.”
The Farringdon club have confirmed that 50 percent of the proceeds of the sound system sale will go towards helping Corsica Studios co-founder Amanda Moss overcome a rare type of cancer.
