Carl Cox announces first album in over a decade, ‘Electronic Generations’

Techno icon Carl Cox has announced the release of his first album in over a decade. Electronic Generations will be released on September 16th via BMG, whom Cox has recently re-signed with. The 17 track album is the result of sets played by Cox over the course of lockdown, a period where the artist reportedly created and remixed a wealth of new music. The album will feature collaborations with Fatboy Slim, Juan Atkins, and Nicole Moudaber who features on the album’s most recent single, How it Makes You Feel.

Speaking to Mixmag, Cox revealed that Electronic Generations is a new direction for the artist who is four decades into his celebrated career. “It doesn’t sound like anything I’ve ever done before, and that’s what I like about it,” he elaborated. “ ‘Electronic Generations’ is basically me starting out in this generation, getting through it, and getting into this new generation of music. I kind of fell in love with making music more and more when I spent more time in my studio in Melbourne.”

Electronic Generations arrives digitally with a second volume of pre-remixes from the album’s collaborating artists. Listen to the first two singles, Speed Trials On Acid with Fatboy Slim and Dan Diamond, and How It Makes You Feel featuring Nicole Moudaber below.
