coldbrew teases upcoming album with a smoky new single, ‘untitled jazz’

Lofi legend coldbrew (Austyn Moffat) has returned on 2023’s Black Friday with a new track, ‘untitled jazz’ featuring faff. The song is the fourth single from his upcoming LP, a 20-track jazz/hip-hop/chill/lofi odyssey titled no time to waste, which drops on December 8th. The Oklahoma-based musician and label owner spends his days making lofi beats as coldbrew and releasing similar music via his label Kindbrew Records, including songs by softy, Mondo Loops, Oatmello, and Mujo.

Moffat’s discography is massive — and popular. He called this lofi persona coldbrew because he felt that the tunes were ideal for coffee shops, and that particular beverage was his favorite. Taking off in 2019 with his debut EP, welcome to my mind, his music garners more than a million monthly listeners on Spotify alone and appears on extremely popular playlists like “lofi beats”. He’s also been featured on “Sirius XM Chill,” “Chill Tracks,” “Bedtime Beats,” “Jazz Vibes,” “lush lofi,” and “chill lofi study beats,” to name but a few playlists.

‘untitled jazz’ sees coldbrew eschewing his trademark crispy drums and percussion for a gentler sound, creating a piano-driven, hazy yet cozy and full-blown jazz song. Its execution and delivery demonstrate both coldbrew’s musicality and his prowess as a producer. It is a tasty appetizer for what is to come with the release of no time to waste.
