After unveiling single after single and video after video, Offshore Music Ph signee ena mori has graced us with her debut album, DON’T BLAME THE WILD ONE! The project is a holistic body of work, containing a variety of moods and vulnerable moments. One such moment occurs during the verse of the title track ‘DBTWO!’ when ena expresses the importance of removing the makeup, a metaphor for taking off the mask and being unapologetically yourself.

Stream / Download: ‘DON’T BLAME THE WILD ONE!’

ena mori explores a similar theme in her record KING OF THE NIGHT! in which she details how she overcame other people’s expectations and chose individuality over conformity. That is to say, she is unwilling to be anything other than who she is, despite what others might say about her.

So who, then, is ena mori? From the start, listeners will recognize her as a storyteller, depicting life in imaginative colouration and creating drama with distorted tones, chaotic noises, and high-speed percussions. ‘TALK! TALK!’ illustrates this ability of hers to clearly express her concepts through narratives. The single is an attentively-glued collage of motifs, which develop rapidly from the moment she sings the words ‘once upon a time’.
