► PENDULUM – The Drum & Bass supergroup behind hits like ‘Tarantula,’ ‘Blood Sugar’ and ‘The Vault.’ Formed in Perth in 2002 when producers Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen joined forces with acclaimed local DJ Paul ‘El Hornet’ Harding. Pendulum’s goal was to combine their influences and create a new sound that they felt was missing from Dance music. The PENDULUM sound comprises of heavy beats accompanied by low, buzzing bass lines, overlaid with synthesized leads.
In 2003 they released ‘The Vault,’ though the highly respected 31 Records. The track received wide acclaim in the scene, being crowned Knowledge Magazine’s ‘Best Track Of The Year’ and being played by almost every DJ. In 2005 they released their debut album, ‘Hold Your Colour.’ Critically, the album was well-received in both the United Kingdom and Australia. In addition, it was one of the biggest selling Drum and Bass releases of all time. ‘Immersion’ was released on 24th May 2010, entering the UK album charts at #1 at the end of that week.
Two heavyweight DJs that have supported the PENDULUM sound ever since its creation were the legendary ADAM F and the renowned DJ FRESH who asked PENDULUM to join their BREAKBEAT KAOS label in order to form a tight crew of like minded musicians. Through this label PENDULUM released the epic ‘Another Planet’ backed with ‘Voyager.’ The single exceeded any prior expectations making its debut at #1 in the UK’s National Dance Chart and Top 40 in the mainstream chart.
