Ex-Vampire Weekend’s Rostam drops “Gravity Don’t Pull Me”

Vampire Weekend member Rostam Batmanglij has dropped a track and accompanying video titled “Gravity Don’t Pull Me.” Batmanglij recently parted with the iconic band to focus on his solo work, and the track is out via XL Recordings. The mesh of electronically created sounds is brand new and varies greatly from Batmanglij’s work with his old band, but he sounds refreshing in his new work, and his excitement and work ethic are clearly displayed in “Gravity Don’t Pull Me.”

The dancers in the video are Jack Grabow and Sam Asa Pratt, and the visuals were directed by Batmanglij and Josh Goleman. Check out the stunning track and the equally stunning video below.
