The heat of the day begins to die down as light fades and darkness draws near. Who needs rose-tinted glasses when you’ve got the ‘Dusk Light’, making its way into your soul and rhythmically pulsing away within. Spanish musician Pablo Bolivar has shared his latest single, taken from the upcoming album Framework Of A Dream which is slated for release on the 21st of May via Seven Villas. ‘Dusk Light’ provides insight to the album, as the progressively chilled minimal textures wrap themselves around the sound and breathe life into the song.

Take a moment to meet to unique musician behind the sound in the exclusive interview below.

Set the tone for us. Why the arts?

It wasn’t my choice, the music chose me.

Which comes first when you’re producing – the sound or the idea?

The idea first, but the sound can change the idea.

Does your material feature any collaborations?

Yes, I love to collaborate with my friends. In this album, I have collaborations with Sensual Physics, Ben Preisinger, Ravenshope and my alter ego Mind Groove.

What’s on your current playlist?

Fine downtempo and a lot of dub.

Tell us about the chemistry you have with your fans on stage.

I love to be near the public, feel them, touch them, connect with the first row and play music for them!

What techniques do you experiment with to get your original sound?

Just let the creativity flow.

Take us through a day in the recording studio.

I love to work in the morning, I feel more fresh and creative. For me the funniest part of the process is the creation part, I turn on all the machines and jam around with melodies, the rhythms comes after I have a magical loop running.

Was there a specific moment in your life where you thought, “this is what I want to do”?

Sure, around the time I was 16

What do you keep close by while you’re playing a set?

Water and towels.

Any emerging artists on your radar?

Mundos Sutis, this lovely couple makes me crazy!

What gets your creative juices flowing?

Inspirational moments in nature.

Take us through your collection of gear, tech or software that accompanies your creative expression.

I have a cosy studio in the attic, with a Toft ATB 24 Mixer, Universal Audio Apollo sound card, Dynaudio BM12 monitors, MaxxBCL compressor/limiter, Sequential Prophet-6, Elektron Analog Rytm, Roland JX-03 & SH-01, Access Virus C, Yamaha DX7, Spectrasonics, Arturia, Native Instruments… and my golden pair of ears.

Any side projects you’re working on?

I will start a new album with my hero Joerg Schuster, and also I would like to release a new Mind Groove album next year.

How have you refined your craft since you entered the industry?

I think my sound becomes more adult every year. When I have a listen to my past works, I realize the new releases are sounding more mature and better.

Breakdown the news for us: what can we expect from you this year?

The awaited release of my album “Framework Of A Dream” + a remixes album and a fine 2LP compilation of our favorite Pulshar works.

Famous last words?

Easy
