It would appear that Player Of Games arrives as the first official single from Grimes’s upcoming Claire de Lune project, which the singer has referred to as a space opera about a queer A.I entity. Previously heard tracks presumably from the project include Shinigami Eyes and 100 Percent Tragedy, a song written in response to Grimes’s ongoing feud with Azealia Banks. Speaking on the upcoming album in September, Grimes revealed that she believed that it was “by far” her “best work.” At the Met Gala, Grimes stated, “I… literally don’t care if anyone listens to this shit. I just want it to be great, to be unequivocally just great art.”
