Helado Negro releases music video for ‘Hometown Dream’ ahead of world tour

Producer Helado Negro has dropped a new music video for the track Hometown Dream from his latest album, Far In. This follows Negro’s announcement that he will be embarking on a tour of North America and Europe over the coming months, opening in Texas in April. He will be supported by Kacy Hill. This follows his last live project, Kite Symphony, a multidisciplinary installation created in collaboration with his wife and visual artist, Kristi Sword that took music from his 208 project of the same name and combined it with video installation, documentary footage, and an outdoor installation.

In the music video for Hometown Dream, scenes from Negro’s first ever family trip to Ecuador can be seen, superimposed over images of the producer and the source of Far In’s album art. Speaking on the visuals, Negro offered: “Hometown Dream” is about me leaving New York after living there for so long. New York showed me my North in life and taught me to celebrate existence. My Mom and my Dad both moved to NYC in the ’60s. I spent my twenties, thirties and turned 40 there.”
