Jamie Woon Announces Long-Awaited Second Album ‘Making Time’
UK vocalist and producer Jamie Woon has announced the follow-up to his 2011 debut Mirrorwriting. His second album Making Time is out November 6th via PMR Records. Although, given its four-year gestation, some might suggest a more apposite album title would be Taking Time, Woon is philosophical about the gap between records. “Each project takes as long as it takes,” says Woon. “It’s quite common for me to start a song and then sit on it for two years before I finish it. I used to feel a lot of guilt about how long things take, but I’ve made peace with that. Part of the reason this record took so long is that I wanted to feel like a new person, releasing a new record.”
The guilt-free album features guest appearances from US alt-folk artist Willy Mason, UK singer-songwriter Royce Wood Junior and Robin Hannibal of Los Angeles R&B unit Rhye. Co-production comes courtesy of Lexxx. Woon has shared a live version of album track ‘Message’ (see below). The track is available as a free download with album pre-orders.
