Kelela announces remix album featuring Kaytranada and more, via Warp Records

Kelela is releasing a remix collection called ‘TAKE ME A_PART, THE REMIXES’ to celebrate the first anniversary of her debut studio album ‘Take Me Apart’, which was released last year to widespread acclaim, appearing in numerous publications’ year-end lists.

“It’s not just a bunch of remixes,” Kelela says, on the upcoming release, “It’s how my worldwide community of producers and DJs communicate through difference. It’s also about the camaraderie that we experience when we find the overlaps. The same songs get to exist in these alternate realities which means different people get to have a relationship with the music. Maybe even with each other.”

The 20-track collection was organised by Kelela in conjunction with Nguzunguzu member Asma Maroof, AKA Asmara and features a host of talented artists including Kaytranada, Nídia, serpentwithfeet, DJ LAG, Santa Muerte, LSDXOXO and more. ‘TAKE ME A_PART, THE REMIXES’ is slated for release on October 5th, via Warp Records.
