Live Nation to require proof of vaccination for entry into events from October

Live Nation has announced that going forward, entry to shows produced by the concert and live event company will require all audience members, artists and crew to be fully vaccinated. The company updated their policy regarding attendance to concerts and festivals, now requiring proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test from all those looking to enter their venues. The new regulations will go into effect from October 4th. Live Nation announced the update via Rolling Stone, specifying that all employees of the company will also require full vaccination by this date in order to enter venues and offices. 

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino said the following:

“As of October 4th we will be following the model we developed for Lollapalooza and requiring this for artists, fans and employees at Live Nation venues and festivals everywhere possible in the US.”

It was announced last week that Lollapalooza 2021 was not considered a super-spreader event, despite rumours. The event in Chicago was attended by near 358,000 people, and only 203 Covid-19 cases were reported from the event with no hospitalisations or deaths. Live Nation has also previously been allowing artists to determine their own Covid-19 protocols at venues for concerts and live events.
