London’s Convergence Confirms Actress, Manuel Göttsching for 2017
The floating multi-arts and technology festival, Convergence 2017 takes place between the 21st-25th March at various London venues.
This’ll be the fourth edition of the music, art and technology festival. Performances will be spread across venues like Barbican, Electric Brixton, Village Underground, Scala and XOYO. The first announcement confirms the schedule for the opening night on Tuesday, March 21st, with three shows running simultaneously: Sunn O))) at Barbican, Rival Consoles (plus TBA guests) at Village Underground and Formation (plus TBA guests) at XOYO.
The following night, on Wednesday, March 22nd, Manuel Göttsching will take centre stage at Barbican, performing “E2-E4” live, before collaborating with Ariel Pink, Shags Chamberlain and Oren Ambarchi as The Ash Ra Tempel Experience. They’ll perform live renditions of tracks from Ash Ra Tempel albums Schwingungen and Seven Up. Other festival highlights include Shobaleader One (AKA Squarepusher) at Village Underground (23rd), Coldcut at Electric Brixton (23rd), and Actress (who will play live), Randomer and Raime at Village Underground (24th). Convergence’s closing party will go down on Saturday, March 25th at Electric Brixton, curated by Jacques Greene. More acts will be revealed in the coming months.
Also returning for 2017 is Convergence Sessions, the festival’s programme of talks, workshops, screenings, networking events and live music. It’ll be held at Shoreditch spot Behind The Bike Shed, with brands like Native Instruments, Punchdrunk and Carroll/Fletcher all involved.
