Moog & Korg Have Released iOS & Android Synthesizer Apps For Free In Midst Of Social Distancing & Lockdowns
As entire towns and countries find themselves on lockdown in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, millions of people are confined to their homes in order to stay safe and delay the spread of the disease; with many others around the globe required to implement ‘social distancing’.
With workplaces, schools / universities and venues being shut down, along with events, festivals and even religious gatherings being postponed or cancelled (and bans on certain numbers of people in one space) – people are focused on keeping busy while staying home, avoiding the depressing aspect of cabin fever while trying to keep up morale.
In light of this, synthesizer giants Moog and Korg have released their synthesizer apps for free (for a certain period of time) in order to provide those in self-quarantine with productive and enjoyable activities to help pass the time in a positive fashion.
Moog has released their Minimoog Model D Synthesizer iOS app for those with Apple products: capturing the iconic circuitry and style of the original Minimoog which was released back in the 70’s, and has been a highly influential synthesizer since its debut.
“Introduced by Moog in 1970, the Minimoog Model D served as the archetype for all electronic keyboards that followed. It gave users the ability to design their own sounds, translating imagination into reality. The Minimoog’s portability, affordability and accessibility made it the go-to instrument for musicians looking to expand beyond the traditional sounds of the time.”
A gift to spread positivity, creativity, and expressivity. A moment to slow down, appreciate our innate strength, & experience the uplifting power of sound.

Korg have released their (i)Kaossilator app for Android and iOS. The Kaossilator app allows everyone, even those with limited musical knowledge, to learn about and enjoy creating music easily and efficiently from their handheld devices.
“Schools, workplaces, and meetings worldwide have been requested to close by their respective governments and so many people are studying and working from home. To help you with a musical way to occupy your mind we have decided to make the Kaossilator app for iOS and Android free of charge for a limited time.”
