Morrissey’s Bodyguard sets to sue

Morrissey’s former bodyguard, Bradley Steyn, has filed a lawsuit against the singer over claims he was asked to “hurt” a fan.

The fan in question was David Tseng, who runs the Morrissey-Solo website. The lawsuit claims that Morrissey felt Tseng’s website had invaded his personal life and that he had developed a vendetta. It follows on to say that Morrissey’s tour manager discussed with Steyn how they could obtain Tseng’s home address and if the fan “could be gotten rid of.” Steyn promptly refused and as a result was dismissed.

Morrissey hit back at the claims on True To You saying, “The very idea that I would ask a complete stranger (Bradley Steyn) to physically attack David Tseng surely cannot register with any sane person as being likely. As mildly irritating as David Tseng may be, he is not someone who troubles me enough to even bother with… The shabby truth of this drama is that Bradley Steyn has been trying to extract money from what he terms “the Morrissey tour”, and he has failed. He is now desperate, and this story is his latest escapade to gain someone’s attention… Please note that Bradley Steyn’s statement is now in the hands of the Los Angeles Police Department, and is subject to both criminal and civil action”

This lawsuit adds to the ever growing drama in Morrissey’s turbulent year. Earlier an “over zealous” fan stormed the stage slamming into the singer during the opening of his North America tour in San Jose, California. Morrissey went onto cancel the rest of the tour due to a respiratory illness he claims he got from opening act Kristeen Young, who has released a statement denying the claim.
