NEWS: Former death metal drummer VIOLENCE, streams beautiful new video for ‘Rain’

Introducing Baltimore artist VIOLENCE, a one time death metal drummer… now producing bruising yet beautiful electronic pop songs. We are excited to announce his new video for ‘Rain,’ directed by Jon Wang, with strong Dario Argento/Goblin audioscape influences, and even we suspected some Nine Inch Nails.

The experimental artist’s second track is taken from his album ‘A Ruse of Power,’ and explores different societal contexts of violence – from political tragedies to neighbourhood shootings to the consequences of performed hyper-masculinity – both subtly and overtly. It explores different sonic terrains, jumping from Caprison’s piercing screams to howling industrial winds and tiptoeing square wave melodies. The album’s opener, “Rain”, quietly rumbles with the beautiful tones of his own singing voice – Caprison wanted its video to have a “rap party vibe”.
