PREMIERE: French artist Superpoze remixes Christian Löffler’s “Haul ft. Mohna”
THE PLAYGROUND is excited to announce the premiere of Christian Löffler’s “Haul ft. Mohna” (Superpoze Remix)
French artist Superpoze’s version of “Haul ft. Mohna,” is taken from LÖFFLER’s 2016 LP, Mare, and is part of “Mare Remixes Pt 1” which also features a remix by Max Cooper. The track is to be released tomorrow via Ki Records.
Superpoze has performed at France’s Transmusicales and the Montreux Jazz Festival, and as a producer has toured around Europe, and released a pair of EPs on his own Combien Mille Records label. His take on “Haul ft Mohna” is an antithesis to the large, anthemic sound that we’ve come to expect from festival DJs. A delicate, repetitive triplet piano line opens and underpins the track throughout. Mohna’s tender vocals are delivered with reassurance and warmth, and as the track opens out into a wash of distant textures and finally recapitulates into a vocal refrain, one can’t help but smile with deliverance at the miles walked.
CHRISTIAN LÖFFLER’s unique brand of reflective, yet uplifting electronica has its roots in his own musical beginnings. A self-taught musician, he began composing his own music at the age of 14 while living in a secluded region of Germany, developing a sound that fuses melancholy with euphoria. His influences include Trentemöller, Nathan Fake, Bonobo, Joy Division and Ulrich Schnauss, but his sound is all his own – songs that are “connected by a gloomy spirit, but minted by a warm sincerity.” His successful label Ki Records have been putting out like-minded releases since 2009.
