Richie Hawtin releases new LP

Earlier in the week we found out that it was Richie Hawtin behind the recent mystery 12 inches from the Plus 8 label to drop at Hard Wax records in Berlin. We were expecting the next release in the series today as promised by the DJ and producer in his recent Electronic Beats interview; turns out it’s a full compilation album, and his already lengthy list of monikers (Robotman, F.U.S.E., Plastikman) extends to include newcomers 80xx and Childsplay.

The album is entitled ‘From My Mind to Yours’ which is a reference to the 1991 Plus 8 collection ‘From Our Minds To Yours.’  Hawtin explains, “This year is the 25th anniversary of Plus 8 Records. We thought of celebrating in many ways. However, we decided to celebrate the occasion by revisiting the very reason we started the label in the first place: releasing new forward thinking music.”

It’s not the first time that Hawtin has employed the stealth approach; back in 1996 he released a series of monthly 12 inch singles, named ‘Concept 1’ which played a very influential role in the development of the minimal techno style.

Boomkat have some clips for you to preview – enjoy!
