VTSS – Incredibly Annoying

On the second single from her upcoming EP Circulus Vitiosus, VTSS continues in her recent alt-pop direction on a track that combines influences from industrial, trip-hop, and bubblegum pop. Speak-singing along a slinky trap beat, Incredibly Annoying is full of vocoded screams and glitches, making for an ominous and delicious 2 minutes.

Mall Grab – Times Change

Mall Grab’s upcoming debut album What I Breath promises to be an ode to London’s historic rave culture, and latest single Times Change is no exception. Working with Novelist and Double D E, the producer delivers a sweaty jungle track with breakneck breakbeats and fiery grime verses. Together with the UKG and rave sounds of previous singles from the LP, Times Change points toward an album firmly rooted in classic UK dance sounds.

Hot Chip – Eleanor

Taken from their forthcoming album Freakout/Release, Eleanor is a sunny synthpop offering with touches of vintage pop-rock and glammy big band. The song is a plea from a father to his ex to be reunited with her and their child, though it juxtaposes the heartbreak with an infectious optimism. Brimming with bright keys and synths, Eleanor is one of the sweetest releases from the London band to date.

Infected Mushroom, Bliss – A Cookie From Space

Intersecting heavy metal with heavy electronic music is a practice perhaps best honed in upon by the pioneering collaboration between Korn and Skrillex, who identified the similarities in the musicality of their respective genres and used it to change the game. Working with guitarist and trance artist Bliss, trance icons Infected Mushroom blend influences from theatrical glam metal with their brand of wonky, acid trance for a totally epic trip to the moon and back.

Pariah – Caterpillar

On his first solo release in nearly a decade, techno artist Pariah returns entirely to the dancefloor. Taken from the EP of the same name, Caterpillar is a total techno scorcher. Filled with squelching, modular synths and a huge, chugging bassline, Caterpillar is a monster of a track that ties in influences from Pariah’s recent trance leaning work with Blawan and acid to go hard for a full seven minutes.
