Shygirl, Björk – Woe

Enlisting Björk to remix a track is like giving a toddler a box of crayons and infinite wall space. The icelandic singer takes Shygirl’s Woe and formulates an entirely new response to the original’s question, “when will you see it from my side?” The result is a cosmic, shamanic vortex of a track that sees Björk assume the role of matriarch, offering ancient wisdom through layers of abstract sonic sorcery.

Róisín Murphy – CooCool

Róisín Murphy’s first single of her post-Róisín Machine era sees her reunite with DJ Koze, who applies Murphy’s disco alchemy to a backdrop of laid-back and fuzzy 60’s soul. Tweaked ever so slightly with signature Koze details, CooCool feels effortless, heightened only by Murphy’s infectious playfulness.

Fred Again.., Skrillex, Four Tet – Baby Again..

Following their headlining B2B2B set at Madison Square Garden, UK producer Fred Again..’s latest single is a three-way with his two brothers in bass. Baby Again.. is an atmospheric deep-house track that leans into the strengths of all three producers at some point along its five and a half minutes, sampling Lil Baby and looking to set the dancefloor on fire wherever it might catch.

Alison Goldfrapp – So Hard, So Hot

Following her collaboration with Claptone, Alison Goldfrapp presents what she’s referring to as ‘her debut single.’ So Hard, So Hot sees her apply her unmistakably sensual vocals to a different sonic palette that distinguishes Alison from Goldfrapp, taking shape here as stylish deep house with a disco DNA offering an irresistible lustre.
