Shygirl – NIKE
Taken from her forthcoming debut album NYMPH, Nike is a classic Shygirl rap track following what has been a collection of otherwise vocal driven singles. Full of tongue in cheek innuendos and Shygirl’s brand of scuzzy lyricism, Nike is one that will resonate most with those who’ve stuck with the London rapper from the beginning.
TSHA – Dancing In The Shadows (feat. Clementine Douglas)
The latest single from TSHA’s upcoming debut album, Capricorn Sun, continues her sunny, pop infused breakbeats and house trajectory. Dancing In The Shadows is a jungle scorcher, full of emotive string accents and sizzling synths that dance between TSHA’s breakneck beats and the syrupy smoothness of Clementine Douglas’s voice.
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – When the Lights Go
The title track from TEED’s upcoming album, When the Lights Go is another breathlessly romantic single that keys in on Orlando Higginbottom’s ever evolving pop sensibilities. Rooting itself in 80’s synthpop, When The Lights Go sees Higginbottom weave his vocal harmonies into a soundscape rich with gated reverb, pulsating bass, and glitchy synths.
Pablo Nouvelle – Lovesongs & Sextapes
If anything confirms that Swiss producer Pablo Nouvelle is returning to the club with his new album, Vulnerability, it’s the album’s latest single Lovesongs & Sextapes. An anthemic tech house cut, Lovesongs & Sextapes retains the emotional depth that Nouvelle has found in recent years with projects like his collaboration with Kinnship, while hitting hard on the dancefloor.
Sailor Moon House – Paramida
Taken from her latest Moonrise VII EP, the track from the self-proclaimed ‘Berlin’s most hated’ DJ and Panorama Bar resident is an on the nose ode to her beloved 90s references. Asking the question, “what would it sound like if Sailor Moon made house music?” Paramida creates a sunrise ready progressive house / trance banger accented with spacey arpeggios and propulsive bass. But it’s the somewhat kitschy, somewhat brilliant samples of beach sounds that really cinches the deal on this one.
