Russian Duo PTU Signed To Nina Kraviz’s Label трип
Трип (aka Trip) Records have signed bright Russian talents PTU, announcing a forthcoming EP to come out on April 7th, A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day.
The release, which was produced using only two eight-track samplers, will be the first of real significance for Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea’s collaborative project since 2009’s 7-track offering Hard Week.
трип says of PTU: “They spent their childhood in Siberia and Volga, and their salad days in music schools and early clubs of their respective home cities. Back then accessing the internet was only possible via pre-paid cards that came in envelopes, and music – via pirated CDs and endlessly slow mp3 downloads. Friendships would stem from copying music from hard drive to hard drive.”
A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day promises to be one of the most exciting early braindance releases of 2017. Stay tuned for an exclusive review and interview feature right here on The Playground, and – in the meantime – watch a video for PTU’s pulsing, industrial “Armlet” below:
