Rustie cancels gigs citing ‘addiction and mental health’ problems

Russell Whyte, aka Rustie, let his fans know that he is suffering from ‘addiction and mental health problems’ over the weekend via Twitter and this was followed by an update on Facebook today confirming that he would be pulling out of ‘all gigs in the near future’ to focus on getting well.

The first quarter of 2015 saw the 32 year old Glaswegian undertake his largest tour ever, the Green Language Live world tour. He played shows in the USA, Europe, Korea and Australia.  In early November, Rustie’s third album ‘EVENIFUDONTBELIEVE’ was released via Warp Records.  The cancellations will mean he misses out on a New Year’s Eve show in San Bernardino, California and the Holy Ship! festival in Jan.
