Ross From Friends | Burner | Scarlet Tiger
Release Date: 14 January, 2021
In a bold, luminous start to the new year, Felix Clary Weatherall – otherwise known by his unforgettable moniker Ross From Friends – has released his first single of 2021 entitled ‘Burner’ on his brand new label by the name of Scarlet Tiger.
In reference to his new imprint, the artist states:
I’ve always sent music back and forth with friends and folk I’ve met online over the years, amassing all of this music, so it made perfect sense for me to start a label to release all of it…there seems to be a general path that flows through all of the things that grab me which is some kind of UK electronic music.
Ross From Friends on Scarlet Tiger
A lively rhythmic swirl opens ‘Burner’ with a focused whirlwind of percussive textures beating in line with one’s heart; a growing sense of anticipation flourishes. A candy-coated synth melody echoes amongst the driving layers of textural electronics, as the bassline pulses with substantial power.
The simplistic repetition is hypnotic in nature as the track moves forward; with each layer of timbres more mesmerising than the next. Brief moments of reflective ambience segue into a kaleidoscopic, vivid dance-floor cut.
