Spotify experiences widespread technical issues

Streaming giant Spotify went down last night, according to multiple reports from users. The site experienced access issues and widespread technical problems. Users reported that they were being continuously logged out of the application, or that their account details were flagged as being incorrect. According to Variety, the issues reported spiked at around 13:30 ET, with issues in the US being concentrated in the New York and Los Angeles regions. 

Spotify tweeted that they were aware of the issues at 13:20 ET, and an hour later followed this up with a message to confirm that the issues had been rectified. “Everything’s looking much better now! Give @SpotifyCares a shout if you still need help.” the company Tweeted. 

Along with Spotify, video calling and communications network Discord was also reported to have been down.
