Synth-pop eight-piece Superorganism drop surreal new video

Superorganism have been a band that rejects the norm from the get go. Having released a series of strange 90’s-inspired visuals to go with their self-titled album over the past year, the band have been going from strength to strength and boast a whopping eight members, claiming that, “It takes a village to raise a song”. Frontwoman Orono Noguchi has only just turned 18 this year but seems to be a mine for exciting psychedelic indie-pop.

The band’s newest video is for their track ‘Prawn Song’, taken from their debut self-titled album, and features pixelated gameboy-esque animation in neon colours from Chuck Duke, known for his work on the 2014 edition of ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’. Keeping it current, the visuals make a nod to environmental accountability and plastic in the ocean, with some pixelated Tide-pods and plastic straws even making an appearance. Noguchi’s signature monotone stream-of-consciousness verses follow us through the song, paired with unique synth wobbles and funky drum-beats.
