Tributes Pour In For Chuck Berry, Rock ‘n Roll Pioneer

Musicians from all over the world and from different genres have united in commemorating the passing of Chuck Berry, one of rock ‘n roll’s most influential figures.

Berry died in his St. Louis home in the early hours of Saturday morning at the age of 90. Emergency services were called when his caretaker found him unresponsive, but attempts to revive him failed, and he was pronounced dead at 01:30.

The musician, who once said, “I grew up thinking art was pictures, until I got into music and found I was an artist – and didn’t paint,” has been widely honoured as one of rock music’s earliest and finest exponents, earning tribute from luminaries such as The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Anderson .Paak and Chuck D.

Berry was inducted into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
