XOYO Names The Black Madonna As Next Resident DJ

Shoreditch club XOYO have announced The Black Madonna (real name Marea Stamper) as their next quarterly resident DJ. She will play the East London venue every Friday night through the months of April, May and June.

According to Resident Advisor, Stamper will also play three all-night slots during her 13-week XOYO stay: “the first is happening on April 7th, and the musical focus will be on electro, EBM, industrial and techno; then, on May 5th, Stamper will dabble in dub, hip-hop, Miami bass and jungle, before she homes in on disco and house on June 30th.”

Of the appointment, Stamper says: “There is no place like London and no club like XOYO…In my travels, I felt an immediate connection with the people of this city and the dancers in this club. It was a tremendous honor to meet you all as a guest, but it will be a phenomenal ride to get to know you as a resident. I can’t wait to share this adventure with all of you. We still believe.”
